Top-level tennis returned to Bielsko-Biała once again. The LOTTO PZT Polish Tour tournament was played on the BKT Advantage courts, with Marcel Zieliński taking the final victory. In a thrilling final, the ZTT Złotoryja representative defeated Colombian Daniel Salazar 3:6, 6:3, 7:6.

For the 25-year-old Zieliński, this is a special moment in his career. Just three weeks after winning the gold medal at the 100th LOTTO Polish National Championships, the tennis player claimed his first title in a tournament of this rank.

The final in Bielsko-Biała provided fans with plenty of excitement. The Pole lost the first set 3:6, but turned the match around in the second set, winning 6:3. Everything was decided in the third set, which ended in a tie-break. Zieliński kept his cool and was the one to celebrate victory.

Zieliński passed a real test in Bielsko-Biała

The Pole's path to the final was not easy. Zieliński played five matches, having to fight for victory in three sets in several of them.

In the first round, he defeated Italian Gabriele Vulpitta 7:6, 4:6, 6:4. Then he won against Austrian Alexander Wagner 6:0, 3:6, 6:1. In the quarterfinals, he proved better than American Michael Savano, winning 6:1, 3:6, 7:5. In the semifinals, he gave little chance to Ukrainian Vladyslav Orlov, defeating him 6:2, 7:6.

Good performances in Bielsko-Biała confirmed the 25-year-old's great form, which he had previously shown during the tournament in Gdynia as well.

Importantly, Zieliński won an event of this rank for the first time in his career. Previously, he had reached six finals, but failed to secure the title.
