Maja Chwalińska won the third WTA 125 doubles title of her career.

On the clay courts in Antalya, the BKT Advantage player triumphed alongside Czech Anastasia Detiuc, while also reaching the singles semi-finals.

Chwalińska opted for a three-week stay at the Turkish resort, where she is competing in a total of three WTA 125 tournaments. In her very first event, she reached the singles semi-finals and the doubles final, which she went on to win.

The Bielsko-Biała player won three singles matches. In the first, she defeated Kazakhstan’s Zarina Diyas 6:3, 6:1; Diyas had been ranked as high as No. 31 in the WTA rankings in 2015. In the second round, she eliminated Argentina’s Maria Lourdes Carle, ranked No. 97 in the world and seeded fifth, 7:6 (7-2), 6:4.

In the quarter-final, she defeated France’s Elsa Jacquemot 6:0, 6:7 (7-9), 7:5. Maja’s winning run was finally stopped in the semi-final by Spain’s Leyre Romero-Gormaz, who beat her 6:4, 3:6, 4:6. The result achieved during the LOTTO PZT Team player’s first week in Antalya should move her up by more than a dozen places in the WTA rankings, where she is currently No. 131 (to around No. 119).

Linda Klimovicova competed in the final of the ITF W75 tournament in Maribor on Sunday.

Born in the Czech Republic but representing Poland for the past few months, Klimovicova came close to winning the seventh title of her career and her second this season, following her victory at the ITF W50 tournament in La Marsa. On Sunday, however, she lost the deciding match 1:6, 6:4, 3:6 to Croatia’s Antonia Ruzic, ranked No. 132 in the WTA standings and seeded second in the event.

On her way to the final, Klimovicova opened by defeating eighth-seeded Briton Yuriko Lily Miyazaki 6:3, 6:3, then beat Serbia’s Nina Stojanović 6:3, 6:3. Both opponents are ranked inside the WTA Top 200.

Linda then defeated another Serbian, Natalia Senic, 6:4, 6:2 in the quarter-final. She dropped her first set of the tournament only in the semi-final, before overcoming her third opponent ranked in the second hundred of the WTA standings – France’s Manon Leonard – 6:4, 3:6, 6:0.

Daria Kuczer, who continues to compete in ITF W15 tournaments in Antalya. In her third consecutive appearance at the Turkish resort, she reached a third doubles final and won for the second time.

This time her partner was Romania’s Patricia Maria Tig. As the top seeds, they did not drop a set in four matches. They opened by defeating Serbia’s Anastasija Cvetkovic and Anja Stankovic 6:3, 7:5.

They then received a walkover from Turkey’s Ayse Bal and Czech Jana Kovackova, before beating third seeds Ilinca Dalina-Amariei and Cristina Dinu of Romania 6:2, 6:3 in the semi-final. In the title match, they defeated second seeds Ekaterina Ovcharenko and Britain’s Emily Webley-Smith 6:4, 6:2.
