Billie Jean King Cup Qualifiers – three BKT Advantage representatives named in the squad to face Ukraine

12.03.2026

Beskidzki Klub Tenisowy Advantage Bielsko-Biała representatives Maja Chwalińska, Katarzyna Kawa and Linda Klimovicova, together with Magda Linette, will play in the Poland–Ukraine tie on 10–11 April at PreZero Arena Gliwice on clay. The fifth player will be announced at a later date.

Ukraine will be represented by Elina Svitolina, Marta Kostyuk, Oleksandra Oliynykova, and Nadiia and Lyudmyla Kichenok. Our opponents came to Radom last year with a similar line-up and won the Billie Jean King Cup Qualifiers tournament.

The prize at stake is a place in the Billie Jean King Cup Finals, to be held in Shenzhen from 21–27 September. Poland last competed among the elite two years ago, when the team reached the semi-finals in Malaga.

The Poland–Ukraine tie will mark the 12,000-seat PreZero Arena Gliwice’s debut as host of a major tennis event. The April tie will decide a place in the Billie Jean King Cup Finals. Poland has competed among the elite three times in the previous five editions, and two years ago reached the semi-finals before losing to Italy, who went on to win the event in Malaga. The bar is now higher, as since 2025 only eight teams, rather than twelve, qualify for the Finals.

Competing for qualification in Gliwice will be the Bielsko-Biała players Maja Chwalińska (WTA No. 134, BKT Advantage Bielsko-Biała), Linda Klimovicova (WTA No. 143, BKT Advantage Bielsko-Biała), Katarzyna Kawa (WTA No. 146, BKT Advantage Bielsko-Biała), as well as Magda Linette (WTA No. 49, AZS Poznań). This is the line-up submitted by the Polish Tennis Association (PZT) to the International Tennis Federation (ITF). The fifth player will be announced at a later date. Competition rules allow a maximum of three changes to the squad up to one hour before the draw.
