Two Beskidzki Klub Tenisowy Advantage players – Maja Chwalińska and Katarzyna Kawa – have been selected for the Polish national team for the BJK Cup qualifying tournament in Radom (10–12 April). Magdalena Fręch and Magda Linette will also compete alongside the two Bielsko-Biała players.
The Polish team will play two matches at the Radom Sports Centre. On Thursday, 10 April at 3:00 p.m. they will face Switzerland, and the following day at the same time they will play Ukraine. The three-day event will conclude on Saturday with the Switzerland–Ukraine match.
A major and very exciting tennis event lies ahead. The officially announced Polish squad currently includes four players with extensive experience representing the national team and competing in the Billie Jean King Cup Finals over the past three seasons. However, this is not yet the final squad for the qualifying tournament in Radom for the BJK Cup Finals in Shenzhen. The fifth player will be announced no later than 6 April. We are delighted by the growing interest in tennis and expect packed stands. Women’s tennis under the Billie Jean King Cup banner will return to Radom for the second time. In April 2022, on the hard court at the Radom Sports Centre, Poland defeated Romania 4:0 thanks to two singles points won by then WTA world No. 1 Iga Świątek, another singles point from Magda Linette, and a doubles victory by Magdalena Fręch and Alicja Rosolska (KT Warszawianka). This secured Poland’s historic first qualification for the November BJK Cup Finals. In Glasgow, the world’s 12 best national teams competed for the trophy, which was won by Switzerland.
This time in Radom, the players will compete on a clay court prepared using the same technology as the courts on which the indoor WTA 500 tournament in Stuttgart will be played the following week in April.
