BKT Advantage Bielsko-Biała defends its Polish Team Championship title!

BKT Advantage Bielsko-Biała became Polish Team Champions for the fourth time. The defending champions defeated COME-ON Tennis Wrocław in the trophy match.

The Final Four hosts already had victory within reach after the singles matches, with Katarzyna Kawa, Viktoria Hruncakova and Jozef Kovalik all winning their encounters. Only Maks Kaśnikowski dropped a point in his match against Daniel Michalski.

Kawa was one of the heroes of the weekend. On Sunday, the Polish representative repeated her feat from Saturday’s semi-final against Górnik Bytom: after winning her singles match, she also won the doubles alongside Maja Chwalińska. Kovalik nearly followed suit. The Slovak contributed three points to his team across two ties, although Sunday’s doubles with Maks Kaśnikowski ended with the Bielsko-Biała pair retiring.

BKT Advantage, which recently held a gala to celebrate the club’s 15th anniversary (it was founded in 2010 by current President of the Management Board Piotr Szczypka and Vice-President Wojciech Wrzoł), claimed the title for the fourth time. The Bielsko-Biała club has also won the PRO Club of the Year ranking five times.

The bronze-medal tie was a contest between two clubs making their Final Four debuts, with Górnik Bytom coming out on top. Darja Semenistaja and Weronika Falkowska took on the leadership roles for the team. They first won their singles matches and then defeated Gina Feistel and Basia Straszewska in the decisive doubles encounter. Karol Drzewiecki earned two points for WKS Grunwald Poznań, including a doubles point alongside Fryderyk Lechno-Wasiutyński.
