Our player achieved the biggest success of her career to date by winning the WTA 125 tournament in Huzhou, China. It is her first title at this level.
In Sunday’s final, Kawa produced an excellent performance, defeating top-seeded Slovenian Veronika Erjavec 6:0, 6:4. The match lasted just 64 minutes.
The road to victory, however, was far from obvious. Just one week earlier, Kawa had unsuccessfully competed in qualifying for the prestigious Mutua Madrid Open 2026. The decision to make a quick move to China proved to be the perfect choice. In Huzhou, where she was seeded third, she won five matches and claimed the coveted trophy.
This success could prove to be a breakthrough in the Pole’s career. She is currently ranked No. 163 in the WTA standings. Winning a WTA 125 tournament brings not only valuable ranking points, but also confirms her improving form and growing potential.
Congratulations to Kasia, and we are keeping our fingers crossed for more successful performances on courts around the world!
