Marcelina Podlińska (KS Górnik Bytom) claimed the second title of her career by winning the ITF W15 BKT Advantage Cup as part of the LOTTO PZT Polish Tour – Polish National Cup 2025.
She succeeded for the second week in a row, having triumphed the previous Sunday in Savitaipale, Finland, where she defeated Anna Hertel (AZS Poznań) in the final. Hertel reached the semi-finals in Bielsko-Biała.
Seventh-seeded Marcelina extended her winning streak on the Tour to ten matches by defeating Czech Lucie Urbanova 6:1, 6:3 in the ITF W15 BKT Advantage Cup final. The match lasted one hour and 45 minutes.
The doubles competition in the second edition of the ITF W15 BKT Advantage Cup ended on a successful Polish note on Saturday afternoon. Daria Górska (Legia Warszawa), partnering Czech Emma Slavikova as the fourth-seeded pair, won the first professional title of her career.
In the final, Górska and Slavikova defeated Dutch player Merel Hoedt and Germany’s Angelina Wirges 7:6 (7-4), 4:6, 10-4. One round earlier, Hoedt and Wirges had eliminated the Polish pair Ewa Czapulak (ZTT Złotoryja) and Julia Daroszewska (CKT Grodzisk Maz.) without dropping a set.
In singles, 12 Polish players competed in the main draw of this year’s ITF W15 BKT Advantage Cup. Eight entered on the basis of their WTA rankings, two received wild cards from the Polish Tennis Association, and two came through the two-stage qualifying competition: Nika Hurkacz (Come-on Tennis Club Wrocław) and Katarzyna Wysoczańska (UKS Sport Klub Wrocław).
Wysoczańska won a total of four matches on the courts at 20 Ceramiczna Street, reaching the quarter-finals of the main event, where she lost to Hertel in three sets. Hurkacz, after three victories, was eliminated in the round of 16.
The second round of the Bielsko-Biała event also featured PZT wild card entrant Amelia Paszun (AZS Poznań), Daria Górska, Zuzanna Kolonus (both Legia Warszawa), Magdalena Baniak (BKT Advantage Bielsko-Biała), and sixth seed Stefania Rogozińska-Dzik (KS Górnik Bytom).
The women’s competition concluded on Sunday at BKT Advantage Bielsko-Biała, while qualifying began for the ITF M15 BKT Advantage Cup 2025, also offering USD 15,000 in prize money. The women, meanwhile, moved on to Bydgoszcz for the higher-category ITF W35 Fale Loki Koki Tennis Cup. All of these events form part of the seventh edition of the LOTTO PZT Polish Tour – Polish National Cup.
This year’s series began in mid-June on the courts of Gdańska Akademia Tenisowa, which hosted the ITF W15 Rokitki Park Open. From Gdańsk, the women remained in the Pomerania region but moved to the Morskie Towarzystwo Tenisowe facility in Bolszewo near Wejherowo. The men entered the action only in the third week of the “national Tour”, at the ITF M15 Kozerki Tour near Grodzisk Mazowiecki.
In the second week of July, the women came to Kozerki for an ITF W15 event, while the men competed at the same time in the Łódź Cup on the MKT Łódź courts. Immediately afterwards, the LOTTO 99th Polish National Championships were held at MKT Stalowa Wola.
After the Polish National Championships, the men were the first to return to LOTTO PZT Polish Tour competition, playing last week in the ITF M25 Toyota Koszalin Open on the courts of local club KT Bałtyk. The next stop on the “national Tour” map is Bielsko-Biała.
