The 27-year-old BKT Advantage Bielsko-Biała player made his Davis Cup debut and was immediately given an extremely important task – to open the tie against Egypt. Poland entered the contest weakened by the absence of several leading singles players, making the debutant’s role even more significant. Filar not only rose to the occasion, but set the tone for the entire weekend.
In his match, he defeated Fares Zakaria 6:2, 6:0 in just 71 minutes. The result is all the more impressive because the Egyptian is ranked almost one hundred places above Filar in the ATP standings. Indeed, his performance gave the team calm and confidence that Poland could dominate despite the absences. Following his victory, the Polish team kept up the momentum and ultimately won the tie 4:0.

Not long ago he triumphed at the Polish National Championships, and now he has made a successful debut in one of tennis’s most prestigious team competitions.
