Last week, as many as three BKT representatives took part in US OPEN qualifying – Linda Klimovicova came closest to reaching the main draw.
Linda Klimovicova went the furthest, reaching the decisive third round of qualifying. The Pole fought a close match against Latvia’s Darja Semenistaja but ultimately had to concede defeat, losing 4:6, 6:7 (0-7).
Maja Chwalińska reached the second round of qualifying, where her New York campaign ended after an extremely close match against Indonesia’s Janice Tjen, 5:7, 5:7. Katarzyna Kawa, meanwhile, was eliminated in the first round.
Although none of the Polish players managed to earn a place in the main draw, their performances demonstrated the potential and determination of the players associated with the Bielsko-Biała club. Competing in qualifying provided them with another valuable experience on the international stage.
